Came tonight because I felt like having something that tastes like “home” and I definitely got that here. I ordered stew chicken with fried rice and it was very tasty. The chicken was falling off the bone and seasoned well. The fried rice was cooked well also and complimented the stew. The complimentary steam cabbage was crispy. The woman serving the food was very friendly, even while dealing with a line. I would recommend this place. Gonna go back myself to scope out the roti

Well known Jamaica Ave Caribbean/Indian restaurant. Wide ranging menu of meats, vegetables, legumes, beverages, deserts, soups and stews. Polite and efficient staff deliver neatly prepared orders. High volume ensures freshly made selections. Selections sometimes salty, but tasty. Metered street parking guarantees double parked cars and scooters. Great clientele *****

The food is excellent and abundant. Just trust the person serving you from the abundant display of ingredients, and simply nod, even if you’re not sure what they said, and you’ll be happy. Know that what you ask for may be challenged by the server by how they’d prefer to serve it (“This is better with gravy.... Do you want more curry potato to balance out the heat?”) or what most people order as a side. Fact is, this is very much like being fed by family/friends. Embrace it. “Service” is a hard thing to rate in stars. It is not what you expect. If you don’t understand the lingo or the accent, you might be confused, intimidated, or think they are mad at you. Just don’t worry about it, nod and ay. There is no “atmosphere”, really - just a very practical, abundant serving station behind a hooded glass enclosure that will make your mouth water.

So good. I’m no Caribbean cuisine expert, but this was fantastic. Got the beef stew with peas and rice, some cabbage, and a chicken patty. 15. Delicious and Enough for three meals. So good.

SHHH !! GATEKEEP !! Hidden gem for sure. Tell me why this plate pictured was only 10.. 10!!!! YES!! And it was SOOO juicy and delicious. I only ordered the jerk chicken with cookup rice and the lady asked if I wanted plantains with it.. FOR FREE ?! YES PLEASE. This place is literally like if my grandma’s kitchen was a place. If you’re Guyanese you know what I’m talking about. So many Caribbean places in the city or Brooklyn (I travel there for work and school) are so overpriced for mid food.. THIS PLACE is so cheap for such delicious heartfelt food.
